SPL hydrodynamic spindles for machine tools and test rigs

In a hydrodynamic spindle the bearing load capacity is created by shaft rotation.  Hydrodynamic bearings have the best damping characteristics of all bearing types and this allows extremely high speeds to be achieved.  Hydrodynamic spindles are used in the following applications:
